If you're a self professed coffee snob and just need a caffeine fix, Ubud caters to your needs with low, Balinese prices. Just next door (adjacent to Agung Raka) at iPong they serve fabulous coffee. Further towards town on the opposite side to Bali Breeze Plataran (Teras) Restaurant serves up a very classy coffee and has Decaf available. Petani Restaurant and Siam Sally Restaurant also serve lovely coffee and usually have Decaf as well.
Within a couple of hundred metres from each other, near the centre of Ubud are three quality coffee joints. To walk there head left out of Bali Breeze and follow the road straight for about 1.6km/1mi to get to the first of the three.
F.R.E.A.K. Coffee has two branches in Ubud - one on the way to the town centre from Bali Breeze and the other next door to the Bintang Supermarket on the far side of Tjampuhan Ridge. F.R.E.A.K. is the simplest and cheapest of the three and is a favourite for the yoga crowd.
Anomali, on the main road of Ubud, Jalan Raya, is the only place we're aware of that does Italian Espresso style coffee. They also run barista classes if you're looking to learn.
Seniman is just up a side street from Anomali and is probably the busiest of the three. Unlike the other two which are purely coffee and cake shops, Seniman provides fairly good brunch-style food as well.
